Drug Rehab Atlantic Highlands NJ Resources Atlantic Highlands is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, in the Bayshore Region. The borough’s name comes from its location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantic Highlands is part of the Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, an effort by nine municipalities in northern Monmouth County to reinvigorate the area’s economy by emphasizing the traditional downtowns, dense residential neighborhoods, maritime history, and the natural beauty of the Raritan Bayshore coastline. The township borders the Monmouth County communities of Highlands and Middletown Township. The Monmouth County Division of Behavioral Health serves residents through mental health and addiction services resources. In 2020, the Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners combined the offices of mental health and addiction services to become stigma-free. The Monmouth County Stigma-Free Initiative is a countywide program that aims to reduce the stigmas associated with mental illness and substance use disorder. The Monmouth County Stigma-Free Action Committee believes that every individual deserves to be treated with respect and that every person needing treatment, regardless of the nature of injury or condition, should be able to get help without the fear of the stigma of reaching out for help.
