Alumni Program for Long-Term Addiction Recovery at We Level Up

Our alumni program offers robust support and planning for our former clients. We believe that a strong support system is crucial for maintaining sobriety. Through our program, clients receive access to support groups, consultations, and educational workshops to help our alumni continue their progress towards a healthier and happier life.

At We Level Up, we offer Adderall addiction therapy across seven accredited facilities in Florida, Texas, California, Washington, and New Jersey. Each location is staffed by licensed physicians, psychologists, and therapists who deliver individualized care.

We Level Up Treatment Centers is an AHCA-licensed facility that helps adults recover from addiction and build healthier lives. Recovery does not end after treatment, and many people continue their progress through Substance Abuse Recovery resources that provide ongoing guidance and support.

An alumni program helps people stay connected as they return to daily life. Through our Family Program, alumni and their loved ones can strengthen support systems, build healthy relationships, and continue practicing the skills learned during treatment.

At We Level Up, our alumni program is part of a long-term recovery plan. We provide ongoing support, recovery activities, and opportunities for connection to help individuals maintain sobriety and build a healthier future.

Understanding the Alumni Program

An alumni program is a service that gives support after a person finishes addiction treatment. It helps people stay connected with their recovery community. It also helps people keep using the healthy habits they learned during treatment. Many people find that support after rehab helps them handle problems and stay focused on sobriety.

The main goal of an alumni program is connection. Addiction can make people feel alone. It can make people feel far away from family, friends, and others.

A sober community support system gives people a place to:

  • Share their stories
  • Celebrate progress
  • Talk about challenges
  • Get support from others

Alumni programs are not the same as treatment programs. They do not replace therapy, medical care, or help from professionals. Instead, they work with treatment by helping people continue their recovery after leaving a structured program.

People in an alumni program may take part in:

These activities help people stay active in recovery. They also help people build healthy friendships. Many people continue using alumni services for months or even years after treatment.

Alumni Program vs. Aftercare and Recovery Support Groups

An alumni program, addiction aftercare program, and recovery support groups all help people stay on the path of recovery. However, each one has a different purpose. An addiction aftercare program helps people adjust after treatment.

Aftercare may include:

  • Continued therapy
  • Outpatient care
  • Recovery planning

Aftercare helps people slowly return to daily life while still receiving support. Recovery support groups help people connect with others who have similar experiences.

These groups give people a place to:

  • Share feelings
  • Talk about challenges
  • Learn from others
  • Encourage each other

Examples include community recovery meetings and peer support groups. An alumni program helps people stay connected with a treatment community. It allows former patients to continue their connection with people who understand their recovery journey.

At We Level Up, alumni services work with professional care to support long-term recovery. Each type of support can help in a different way. The best recovery plan depends on each person’s needs, goals, and progress.

Services include Healthcare management and Healthcare Navigation, and Private Coaching for clients and loved ones with Use and Behavioral health disorders. Let’s join forces to create meaningful and lasting positive Impact for those we serve.

My role has included: Develop Family Program for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder clinics in Florida. Host weekly programs to support and educate families of clients. Samantha Spidell, BS, MS, LMHC
Alumni and Family Program Manager

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a passion for supporting individuals and families throughout the full continuum of recovery. In my current role, I lead the Alumni and Family Departments, where I oversee alumni coordinators across multiple facilities and help ensure continued, meaningful aftercare for our clients beyond their time in treatment.

Our alumni program provides ongoing support through weekly virtual meetings, in-person gatherings, and individualized connection for clients navigating life after treatment. In parallel, our family program offers multiple weekly meetings, encouraging loved ones to stay engaged in their own healing process both during and after their family member’s time in care.

As a clinician, I bring a therapeutic lens to this work—integrating my background in residential treatment with a deep understanding that recovery does not end at discharge. While my time as a primary therapist allowed me to build impactful, short-term relationships, this role has given me the opportunity to stay connected long-term and witness the continued growth of our alumni and their families.

I am deeply committed to helping people build resilience, navigate challenges, and sustain meaningful change over time. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is being able to walk alongside individuals and families as they reach milestones, reconnect, and continue evolving in their recovery journeys.

Benefits of an Alumni Program

An alumni program helps people stay connected and keep working toward their recovery goals.

Some benefits may include:

Community and connection

People can build healthy friendships with others who understand addiction and recovery.

Accountability

Staying connected can help people stay focused on healthy goals.

Less loneliness

Talking with others can help people feel less alone during recovery.

Ongoing support

Alumni members can give hope, encouragement, and kind words during hard times.

Practice healthy skills

People can keep using the healthy skills they learned during treatment.

Help prevent relapse

Support from others can help people notice problems early and ask for help before things get worse.

Long-term recovery support

An alumni program gives people a place to return for support long after treatment ends. Recovery is a lifelong journey. Having people who care can make each step feel easier.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) explains that recovery is an ongoing process, and continued support after treatment can help people maintain long-term sobriety. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also recognizes that recovery support services and strong social connections can improve health outcomes and support lasting recovery.

Building a Strong Sober Community Support System

A strong sober community support system is an important part of recovery. Many people do better when they have family, friends, and others who support healthy choices.

These friendships can bring:

  • Hope
  • Support
  • Kindness
  • Encouragement

People in an alumni program understand what recovery is like. They know that some days may feel easy and other days may feel hard. Members can share stories, celebrate success, and help each other during difficult times.

How the Alumni Program Works at We Level Up

The We Level Up alumni program helps people after treatment ends. Recovery does not stop when a person leaves rehab. Many people still need help as they go back to work, school, home, and daily life. Our addiction recovery alumni program helps people stay connected with others who understand what recovery is like.

The alumni support program works with the care people receive during treatment. Before leaving rehab, people learn ways to deal with stress, stay away from drugs or alcohol, and make healthy choices. The alumni program helps people keep using these skills after treatment is over.

The alumni support program can also help people find more care if they need it. This may include therapy, outpatient treatment, family support, or other recovery services. Getting help early can make it easier to stay on the path to recovery.

Types of Alumni and Recovery Support Services

An alumni program can offer many kinds of support. Each person has different needs, so the services may be different. The goal is to help people stay connected and keep moving forward in recovery.

Recovery Support Groups

Recovery support groups give people a place to talk with others who understand addiction and recovery. People can share their stories, talk about hard times, and encourage each other.

Alumni Events

Alumni events help former patients stay connected after treatment. These events give people a chance to spend time with others who are living a sober life.

Peer Support

Peer support connects people with others who have been through addiction and recovery. Talking with someone who has had a similar experience can bring hope and encouragement.

Continued Counseling Support

Some people may need more help after treatment. Continued counseling support gives people a chance to keep talking with a therapist.

Family Support Resources

Recovery can be easier when families understand addiction. Family support resources help loved ones learn about recovery and how they can give healthy support.

Sober Activities

Sober activities give people fun and healthy ways to spend time without drugs or alcohol. These activities help people meet others, build friendships, and enjoy life in recovery.

Recovery Check-Ins

Recovery check-ins help people stay connected after treatment. A check-in gives people a chance to talk about how they are doing, ask for help, and share any problems they may be facing.

Getting Started with the Alumni Program

Getting started with the alumni program begins before treatment ends. Our team talks with each person about the support that is available after rehab. Together, we help create a plan for continued recovery.

We Level Up helps people stay connected through alumni services and other recovery support. Our team can answer questions and explain which services may be right for each person.

Recovery is a lifelong journey. Support after treatment can help people keep building a healthy, sober life. No one has to go through recovery alone.
